Alpina (full name Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen) is a German car manufacturer founded in 1965 by Burkard Bovensiepen in Buchloe, Bavaria, where production is still based. It specialises in exclusive, hand-finished versions of BMW cars with more powerful engines, revised chassis and more luxurious interiors; since 1983 it has been recognised as a distinct manufacturer, so its cars carry their own type designations. Typical models include the B5, B7 and the V8 Roadster. In March 2022 the BMW Group acquired the brand, and from 2026 Alpina continues as a standalone premium marque under BMW.
