Vauxhall is a British automaker. The company was founded in 1857 by Alexander Wilson as a maker of pumps and marine engines and began building cars in 1903. General Motors of the United States bought it in 1925, it passed to the PSA group in 2017, and since 2021 it has belonged to Stellantis. Vauxhall targets the mainstream UK market, and its models such as the Corsa, Astra, and Mokka are mostly rebadged Opel cars. The brand is active and builds vehicles at Ellesmere Port; it closed its Luton plant in 2025.
