Geely Galaxy Light Gen II Concept
Geely has unveiled its all-new concept car, Geely Galaxy Light Gen II at the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. Evolving its "Ripple Aesthetics" design language, the concept car transcends product value to embrace the aspiration for an elevated lifestyle, and shifts from tech display to high-end technological premium, further driving the brand's continuous innovation and upward progression.
The Geely Galaxy Light Gen II is a great response to Geely's multi-energy strategy and its broader vision for a diversified, sustainable mobility ecosystem. Guided by the principle that form follows function, it introduces a new design language that moves beyond single powertrain conventions, embracing the transition toward a multi-energy era.
At the front, the signature evolves from the first generation's Ripple of Light into the Galaxy Starfall, using fluid light and motion to express a sense of scale and adaptability across different energy forms. The headlights draw inspiration from the upward sweep of traditional Chinese architecture, combined with a focused, forward-looking stance. At the rear, the full-width lighting builds on Geely's Rising Sun signature, now enriched with a more atmospheric, star-like depth-balancing the energy of morning light with a quieter, more contemplative tone.
Enabled by advances in Geely's energy technologies, the overall proportions feel more upright, open, and composed. Compared to the low-slung, pre-loaded stance of the first generation, the second generation adopts a more elevated and confident posture, inspired by the poised strength of a tiger lifting its head. The body surfaces carry greater structural clarity, with side character lines stretched like a drawn bow-introducing tension, rhythm, and a stronger underlying sense of form.
Inside, the concept reflects Geely's vision of an integrated drive-and-cabin intelligent system, where technology and sensory experience converge. The cabin-conceived as a "West Lake Waterfront Smart Cockpit"-brings together light, sound, and material to create an immersive environment.
Details subtly reference Chinese cultural motifs: the audio system evokes the imagery of "Three Pools Mirroring the Moon," while the seating draws from the proportions of traditional Chinese furniture. The central armrest, when inactive, appears calm and restrained, then unfolds visually like ripples across water when illuminated. Patterns inspired by traditional symbolism are integrated into elements such as air vents and the steering wheel, adding layers of meaning without overwhelming the overall clarity of the design.
