Alpine is a French sports car manufacturer founded in 1955 by Jean Rédélé in Dieppe. It became known for lightweight coupés, above all the A110, which won the World Rally Championship in 1973. Renault took over the brand in 1973; series production ended in 1995 and was revived in 2017 with a new A110. Since 2021 Alpine has merged with Renault Sport and serves as the Renault group's performance and electric division, including a Formula 1 team. Recent models include the electric A290 hatchback.
