Wiesmann is a German maker of hand-built sports cars, founded in 1988 by brothers Martin and Friedhelm Wiesmann in Dülmen. Its retro-styled roadsters and coupés (MF3, GT MF4, MF5) are powered by BMW engines, and a gecko is the brand's emblem. The company filed for insolvency in 2013 and briefly ceased operations in 2014. It was later taken over by a new investor and is developing the electric Project Thunderball roadster. The brand is active.
