Valmet Automotive is a Finnish contract car manufacturer based in Uusikaupunki, founded in 1968. It does not build cars under its own brand but assembles models for other automakers on contract — in the past for Saab, the Porsche Boxster and Cayman sports cars, the electric Fisker Karma and for Mercedes-Benz. It should not be confused with the industrial group Valmet (paper machines). Majority-owned by the Finnish state, the company is active and is expanding beyond the automotive industry.
