Spada Vetture Sport is an Italian firm founded by coachbuilder Ercole Spada and his son Paolo; Ercole had earlier helped design the Alfa Romeo TZ and TZ2 while at the Zagato studio. In 2008 the firm unveiled the Codatronca supercar, built on a modified chassis with an engine from the Chevrolet Corvette C6 but clothed in all-new bodywork. The open Codatronca Monza of 2012 used a supercharged 7-litre V8 producing around 710 hp (529 kW). The name codatronca means 'truncated tail'.
