Sony is a Japanese electronics and entertainment company, not a carmaker. It entered the automotive world with the Vision-S concept, an electric sedan shown at CES in 2020 that served as a rolling showcase of its sensors, cameras and software; a Vision-S 02 SUV concept followed in 2022. That same year Sony and Honda set up the Sony Honda Mobility joint venture, which develops electric vehicles under the Afeela brand.
