Slate Auto is an American EV startup founded in 2022 in Michigan by Miles Arnone, William Barker and Jeff Wilke; its investors include Jeff Bezos. The company operated in stealth until April 2025, when it unveiled its first vehicle — a simple, affordable electric pickup called the Slate Truck that can also be configured as an SUV, starting at around $24,950. Series production is planned in Indiana for late 2026. The startup is active.
