Saturn was an American car brand launched in 1985 by General Motors and based in Spring Hill, Tennessee. It billed itself as 'a different kind of car company', with no-haggle pricing and dent-resistant polymer body panels, conceived as an answer to imported Japanese cars. Its models included the S-Series, Ion, Vue, Aura and the Sky roadster. Hurt by high costs and the loss of its independence, GM shut the brand down in 2009, with dealerships closing in 2010.
