Rinspeed is a Swiss company based in Zumikon, founded in 1979 by Frank M. Rinderknecht. It began as a car customiser and tuner (especially of Porsches), but became best known for futuristic concept cars that it regularly unveils at the Geneva Motor Show and CES. Among the most famous are its amphibious concepts, such as the 2008 sQuba, which can also be driven underwater. The firm focuses on innovation and design studies rather than mass production, and remains active.
