Polestar is a Swedish carmaker specialising in electric performance cars. It grew out of the Flash Engineering motorsport team (1996), which became Polestar Racing in 2005 and tuned Volvo cars; it became a standalone carmaker in 2017. Based in Gothenburg, it is owned jointly with Volvo Cars and China's Geely group. It builds fully electric models such as the Polestar 1, 2, 3 and 4 and has been listed on Nasdaq since 2022.
