Plymouth was an American car brand of the Chrysler Corporation, launched in 1928 as an affordable alternative to Chevrolet and Ford. For decades it ranked among the best-selling American marques. It is best remembered for muscle cars such as the Barracuda, Road Runner and GTX of the late 1960s and early 1970s, and for the Voyager minivan. Weakened by a loss of identity and overlap with Dodge models, the brand declined and was discontinued by Chrysler in 2001.
