Mitsuoka is a Japanese carmaker and coachbuilder based in Toyama, founded in 1968 by Susumu Mitsuoka as a repair shop for imported cars (incorporated in 1979). It is known for retro styling inspired by British and American cars of the 1950s and 1960s, mostly rebodying mass-produced Japanese cars such as Nissans (the Viewt echoes a classic Jaguar). In 1994 it was recognised as an official Japanese vehicle manufacturer. It also built its own sports car, the Orochi. The brand is active.
