MG is a British car marque founded in 1924 in Oxford (its name comes from Morris Garages), historically famous for lightweight roadsters and sports cars. After the MG Rover group collapsed in 2005, the brand was taken over by China's Nanjing Automobile and then by SAIC Motor, which owns it today. Modern MG focuses on affordable cars including EVs (the MG4 and the Cyberster roadster) and builds mostly in China. The brand is active and is a significant exporter.
