Mercury was an automobile brand and division of Ford Motor Company, founded in 1938 by Edsel Ford. In price and positioning it filled the gap between mainstream Fords and the luxury Lincoln, offering mid-range cars. Its well-known models included the Cougar, the full-size Marquis and Grand Marquis sedans, the performance Marauder and the Milan. Ford decided to discontinue the brand in 2010, and the last car left the line in early 2011. Mercury is defunct.
