Marcos was a British sports car manufacturer founded in 1959 in Dolgellau, Wales, by Jem Marsh and Frank Costin; the name combines their surnames (MARsh + COStin). It was known for lightweight GT cars, early on using an unusual plywood chassis. The firm went bankrupt and was revived several times; in 2004 it launched the V8-powered TSO, developed with Prodrive. Production ended for good in 2007, when Marcos Engineering went into administration and liquidation.
