Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur was a German car maker based in Altenburg, founded in 2004 by Roland Gumpert, former head of the Audi Sport racing division. It was best known for the Apollo supercar, built from 2005, a track-focused machine on a tubular frame with a strong emphasis on aerodynamic downforce. The company went bankrupt in August 2013 and was acquired in 2016 by Hong Kong group Ideal Team Venture, which renamed it Apollo Automobil.
