Donkervoort is a Dutch manufacturer of lightweight sports cars, founded in 1978 by Joop Donkervoort in Lelystad. Its largely hand-built cars derive from the Lotus Seven concept and emphasise extremely low weight and a pure driving experience without electronic aids. Early models used Ford engines, while the later D8 range (D8 GTO, F22) switched to turbocharged Audi five-cylinder units. The company is active and builds only a few dozen cars per year.
