Datsun was a Japanese car brand tied to Nissan. The name first appeared in the early 1930s and, into the 1980s, was used on Nissan vehicles sold mainly in export markets. In 2013 Nissan revived Datsun as a low-cost line for emerging markets — India, Indonesia, Russia and South Africa. After persistently weak sales, the revived brand was discontinued for good in 2022.
