Cupra is a Spanish car brand based in Martorell near Barcelona, spun off by the Volkswagen Group in 2018 as a standalone marque from the sporting division of SEAT (the Cupra name had denoted high-performance SEAT models since 1996). It focuses on sport-oriented cars and, increasingly, on electric vehicles. Its models include the Ateca, Formentor and Leon, as well as the electric Born and Tavascan. The cars are built by SEAT and the brand is active.
