Caterham Cars is a British manufacturer founded in 1973, when it bought from Lotus the rights to the Seven, a direct descendant of the Lotus Seven. It specialises in lightweight sports cars with a tubular steel chassis and aluminium bodywork, sold either fully built or as a kit. Focused purely on driving, many versions weigh well under 600 kg. Since 2021 the company has been owned by Japan's VT Holdings and is based in Dartford.
