Bugatti is a French car manufacturer founded in 1909 in Molsheim by the Italian-born engineer Ettore Bugatti. The original company was famed for racing and luxury cars such as the Type 35 and Type 57 Atlantic before production ended in the 1950s. After a 1990s revival with the EB110, the brand was acquired by the Volkswagen Group in 1998, which produced the Veyron and Chiron hypercars. Since 2021 Bugatti has operated under the Bugatti Rimac joint venture, shared with Croatia's Rimac and Porsche.
