Audi RS5 Coupe Competition Package [US]
An exclusive Competition package addition for the 2023 RS5 Coupe and RS5 Sportback delivers performance and design enhancements. The sportiness of the Audi RS5 Coupe and Sportback is reinforced like never before, sharpening the vehicles' overall appearance with performance-oriented components, while achieving a more emotional driving experience.
The 2023 Audi RS5 Coupe and Sportback models' potent bi-turbo V6 presents 444 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, with the RS5 Coupe achieving a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds, and the RS5 Sportback achieving a 0-60 mph time of 3.8 seconds. Both models, when equipped with the Competition package, will receive an increased maximum top track speed of 180mph - up 25 mph from the vehicles' standard top track speed of 155mph, and up 4 mph from the Dynamic Plus package's 174mph top track speed. Developed specifically for this exclusive package, the RS Sport exhaust system incorporates matte black tailpipes producing a more intense sound pattern as a result of reduced insulation between the engine compartment and interior - thrilling customers and bystanders alike with an exciting sound experience. This reduction of insulation is a purposeful modification, which not only complements the exhaust note, but also decreases the car's weight by nearly 18 pounds.
Fine-tuning enhancements to the engine control unit software make for tighter load changes in S sport mode when the "Dynamic" drive mode is active - further increasing the emotionality. Customers who order an RS5 Coupe or Sportback with this package will receive a coilover suspension system with front sport sway bar that present a ride height sitting 10 mm lower than standard RS5 models. To amplify the performance quotient even further, customers can manually lower the ride height by an additional 10mm, for an overall ride height that is 20mm lower than the regular RS5.
With this new configuration, Audi Sport has created precise handling and even greater tracking. The enhanced quattro sport rear differential ensures an increased degree of agility and driving enjoyment - especially when drivers select the "Dynamic" driving mode. Additionally, Sport direct steering provides even more precision when navigating road dynamics, offering a steering ratio fixed at 13.1:1. The Competition package brings a new data set in the control unit with changed parameters designed to shift the power to the rear tires. The updated software in the transmission control unit makes for reduced shifting times and an increased spread between the various driving modes. In combination with the Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires paired with 5-Y-spoke Phantom black milled-cut wheels and a newly tuned ABS software, the RS ceramic front brake system provides exceptional braking power, reducing the stopping distance by up to two meters (about 6.5 feet) when stopping from 62-0 mph.
The Competition package boasts a number of motorsport oriented elements, further amplifying its sporty character. Included in the package are front seats with a Pearl Nappa and Dinamica seating surface combination with Piano Black side trim, replacing the standard Fine Nappa leather seats. The package also enhances several key interior components wrapped with Alcantara with contrast stitching in crescendo red, including the three-spoke heated steering wheel, shift lever, and center console. The safety belts and floor mats both receive red edging to further underline the package's sporty disposition, while Matte carbon inlays also complement the sporty aesthetic. In addition to the Audi RS logo incorporation into the floor mats, Audi beam puddle lights will project the RS Competition logo from beneath the vehicle's doors whenever in the open position. Finally, the Competition package will receive a unique virtual cockpit layout exclusive to the package, displayed as a sporty Runway mode.
The Audi rings on the front and rear of the vehicle, as well as the model badging and exterior trim further enhance the character with their high-gloss black finish. Several elements of Matte carbon are added to the exterior, including front splitter, rear diffuser, and mirror housings. A less frequently seen, but equally appreciated touch of carbon can be observed under the hood on the engine cover. Switching to the opposite side of the color spectrum, front ceramic brakes are paired with red painted calipers, and rear steel brakes with red painted calipers are a reminder of the impressive stopping power and control possessed by the vehicle. Finally, customers may select to outfit their Audi RS5 Coupe or Sportback with a Sebring Black exterior paint, which is exclusive to the Competition package.
