Rolls-Royce is a British luxury car marque. It grew out of the partnership of Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, who joined forces in 1904; cars have been sold under the Rolls-Royce name since 1906. The brand became renowned for exceptionally quiet, opulent cars of the very highest class, such as the Phantom. Since 2003 the car business has belonged to the BMW Group and the cars are built at Goodwood in England; it is a separate company from the Rolls-Royce plc aero-engine maker.
