Audi is a German car manufacturer founded in 1909 in Zwickau by August Horch and today headquartered in Ingolstadt. Its four-ring emblem recalls Auto Union, formed in 1932 by the merger of four firms. A premium-segment brand, Audi became known for its quattro all-wheel-drive system (from 1980), aluminium body construction and its sporting S and RS variants. Notable models include the Audi 100 and the Audi quattro. Since 2020 Audi has been a wholly owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group.
